Upper Room Fellowship Ministry |
History of URFM:
In 1995, Valy and Elena heard on a Christian radio about Exchanged Life Ministries of Michigan (ELM) and its services. Convinced that this is God’s calling, they enrolled in the Advanced Training Institute offered by ELM. They learned about Christ and the Cross Centered Christian discipleship approach.
In 1996, responding to God’s calling in their heart, Valy and Elena founded Upper Room Fellowship Ministry (URFM). This organization is registered with the State of Michigan and has charity 501 (c) (3) status from the IRS.
In 1999, URFM was accepted as a ministry member of the Association of Exchanged Life Ministries (AELM). See www.aelm.org
URFM Mission Statement:
The desire of URFM is to help members of the body of Christ to experience spiritual maturity in their various aspects of existence, so that they may know Jesus Christ not only as SAVIOR, and as LORD, but know HIM personally as their LIFE.
URFM VISION:
URFM cooperates with the Holy Spirit in spreading the Whole Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible. Our purpose is to accomplish the Exchanged Life objective, which is to reveal our Spiritual Identity with Christ in His death, resurrection, and ascension.
Most Christians have been taught that Jesus Christ died for their sins. Some embraced Christ as their Lord. Only a few have been taught the TRUTH that they died with HIM and experience CHRIST as their LIFE. Consequently, even fewer find victory in their lives. Although they have been set free from their SINS, they have not been set free from THEMSELVES.
The Message of URFM:
The message of URFM is thoroughly Bible-based and specifically Christ-centered. It is based especially upon Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”
The message of the BELIEVER’S IDENTITY with CHRIST is not new. It has first been revealed to Apostle Paul. It has been lived and taught by him, then re-discovered and preached by great men of faith throughout the years.
URFM uses the term “exchanged life” which means that Jesus Christ came to give His life for us, in order that He might put His life in us, so that He could live His life through us.
These truths are clearly taught in Galatians 2:20, 1 Corinthians 1:30, Colossians 3:1-4, and Romans 5-8. We use the exchanged life teaching as a discipleship method. Its deep Biblical truths have been used successfully to set thousands of people free from the bondage of self-centered life.
Teaching Materials:
URFM offers teaching materials in the form of audiotapes, videotapes, books, brochures, and tracts.
URFM also coordinates the translation, from English into Romanian, of valuable spiritual teaching materials. The goal is to equip those interested in becoming actively involved in teaching others.
