Friends 

John 15:13 “ Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for a friend.”

 What is a friend but an extension of self?
What is a friend but one who cares
That you don’t have to carry your burden alone?
What is a friend but one who dares
to stand by your side though others desert?

 A friend is one who knows all about
your hurts and weaknesses.
He knows your dreams and wishes;
he knows what makes you cry.
He never adds weight to your heavy load
but tries to ease and make it lighter.

I have known rejection-He does not reject.
I have been ridiculous-
He does not ridicule my silliness.
He only leads me gently into the right path.
He smiles and tolerates my weakness,
until I become mature and strong enough to turn around.

**

 Who is this friend I am talking about,
this one who is always around,
ready to pick me up when I fall?
Can’t you really guess?
There is only one like this.

Jesus is my friend.
